Mosquito Menace Control Measures
Stages
Mosquitoes are holometabolous insects and therefore grow through an egg, larva, pupa to adult stage. The larvae and pupae are aquatic, the adults are free flying. At 80° F the larva goes through four larval instars in about 4 days before pupating. The pupa takes three days before the adult emerges. Adult females live several weeks if given a source of sugar. Males usually live less than a week.
Habitat
Larvae and pupae live in water, usually still water. They do not survive well in rushing streams or badly polluted water. Adults hide in vegetation near water or in cool, damp places. Many species fly in search of blood meals in the evening.
Corrective Action
Thorough drain spray
- All drains shall be thoroughly spray to kill all the adult mosquitoes that are thriving in the drains.
- Chemical to be used
- Malathion-50%EC
- Dilution-20 ml per ltr
Larviciding
- Suitable larvicides shall be sprayed at all stagnant drains that will prevent the larval Development thee by reducing the mosquito population
- Chemical to be Used
- Baytex-1000%EC
- Dilution-15 ml per ltr
ULV Treatment
The Ultra Low Volume treatment is our latest technique of light fumigation for internal areas. The treatment involves emitting tiny droplets of our specially formulated chemical preparation into the open areas.
Apart from killing by contact to the flying insects, it is also effective in flushing out German cockroaches, fleas and bugs which is deeply entrenched in the structure of the building. This treatment will be able to reach cracks, cervices, and areas inaccessible during our normal spraying.
